Under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), four services have been combined into one. The four services include:

Commonwealth Home and Community Care (HACC)
Planned respite through the National Respite for Carers Program
Day Therapy Centres, and
Assistance with Care and Housing for the Aged.
The CHSP is the starting level of home support for older clients. It generally suits people who are still able to live independently but need simple help with one or two areas of care. For example, access to meals-on-wheels, transport to appointments or community nursing.
